Before & After! 🐰 Every little critter I make begins as a rough piece of wood. I cut, shape, and sand each tiny detail by hand (those ears are no joke!). Then I layer on paint to bring their sweet woodland personalities to life.

We love everything that @joewithmostlyoak does on the #rikonlathe ❤️ Why wouldn’t you, it’s usually very entertaining. But I love this because it’s adaptation. As the caption says, make a flaw a feature.
I feel like when folks are just starting out, they focus too much on an imperfection to see the beauty in the individuality of the piece.
It’s ok, it’s hand-made, you’re not a machine, it is what makes it unique.

Turning a flaw into a feature.
On this piece of the 500 year old tree, i noticed a crack pretty early, so while i turned the wood, I thought of ways to make it into a feature. Although not a new technique, this was the first time using stitching as a way to enhance the look, while also ensuring the crack is stable.
This bowl is available for the inquisitive, the tasteful, and the pretentious.

Best Facebook marketplace find ever! The guy was 2 blocks away, took amazing care of it, tuned/cleaned it up before picking up, 8 extra blades, custom resaw fence, and a very fair price.
